Gli Amycanbe presentano The world is round, un concerto nato dalle suggestioni dell’omonima fiaba che la scrittrice d’avanguardia americana Gertrude Stein scrisse nel 1939. Cesare Pavese, primo traduttore in Italia delle opere della Stein, definì la fiaba incantevole, “delightful", affermando: “è il libro di avventure ideale (…) e mi ha fatto molto sognare a proposito del monte e della sedia.”
Un prezioso progetto messo in opera durante la quarta edizione di Assalti al Cuore e che ora si realizza in un ep dal titolo The world is round registrato questa estate nella splendida cornice del Teatro Petrella. Alle avventure di Rosa, una bambina – protagonista del libro – che sale su un monte tutta sola tenendo stretta stretta una sedia blu perdendosi e ritrovandosi, si annoda il percorso musicale degli Amycanbe. Francesca Amati, voce del gruppo, ha tradotto e ridipinto i testi da cui nascerà a breve un music book per NdA Press /Interno 4 Records.
Il concerto The world is round al Teatro Petrella di Longiano, sabato 5 dicembre, ore 21, propone in anteprima lo sviluppo di questo progetto ovvero brani inediti degli Amycanbe che misurano le atmosfere acustiche e raffinate del loro primo album Being a grown-up sure is complicated con le ardite sperimentazioni verbali di Gertrude Stein. Un’architettura sonora e letteraria in cui si staglia un eclettismo di gruppo spinto da una vena creativa di grande impatto emotivo e da una rosea scommessa per il futuro.

Dopo l'esperienza di quest'estate a registrare il nuovo materiale nello splendido Teatro Petrella di Longiano (FC), avremo modo di esibirci a dicembre in un live che cercheremo in tutti modi di rendere il più speciale possibile, e poter quindi replicare a distanza di due giorni, in un altro teatro questa volta il Busnelli di Dueville (VI).
Beh...suonare nei teatri è bellissimo, ne abbiamo di meravigliosi in Italia, speriamo questo questo possa un'inizio per noi ed anche per tante altre piccole band italiane.

Hi everybody,
yes it is true!!!
As a lot of blogs and press is saying, something new is on the way...
In collaboration with Amnesty International, Buffetlibre DJs present: PEACE, an initiative that will include exclusive songs by musicians from over 50 countries. The goal is to merge a stylistic variety that represent the music scenes from all over, whether they be geographically and culturally distant or near.
PEACE will be digitally available worldwide in January 2010, letting listeners pick their own price for the album, with a minimum of €2. All proceeds will go to Amnesty International's humanitarian aid projects in areas of conflict.
Spanish collective Buffetlibre has done many international musical projects. Their latest venture Peace is a global effort involving all kinds of musicians from 42 countries to release a compilation album that supports humanitarian causes - all proceeds will go to Amnesty International.
Amycanbe have been asked to rappresent Italy together with other bands such as our long time friends Les Men Avec Le Lunettes and Perturbazione all in Peace
So here they are with a new song called Rose Is A Rose.
